Performed in La Casa Encendida (Madrid, Spain) in June 2023, this piece’s backdrop is a track kindly ceded by Tachán Productions in Tenerife. It features the sounds of La Palma’s Tajogaite volcano which erupted in 2021. I improvise over it with a guitar, playing to the white noise and rumble of wind, lava and birds. I created generative visuals on TouchDesigner - one of them responds to my guitar, the other to the volcano’s sounds.

The piece also features archival footage which includes images of the island’s previous erruption, that of Timanfaya in 1971. Performed live, the piece lasts around 9 minutes.
