She Resonates

Three episode audiovsual documentary and concert series. Created as part of a Clockwork Tower, Pioneer Works residency in Brooklyn, NYC (2017).

She Resonates was produced by Clocktower Radio, the former radio station of Pioneer Works. It was a collaboration between grassroots gender justice education project Las Marias (Lauren Dapena and myself) and sound artist Merche Blasco. The purpose of the show was exploring interconnections between politics, gender, and sound.

Each episode was structured as an interview with a feminist activist or other social justice advocate(s). That was followed by a short experimental music performance, also bookended by brief interviews with the artist. 

Subjects covered: labor issues and unionizing, sex work, environmental justice, the bail system and incarceration.
